This is on of my favourite films with James Dean. But we all know that he has only been in 3 motion pictures. Nonetheless, he's one of the biggest movie icons in Hollywood history. Opposite to him stars Paul Newman, another actor, who's had a great impact on me. Not only was he an incredibly gifted actor and the man with the most famous blue eyes in movie history, he was also a philantropist. A person who did a lot of charity work. He was also a great family man, having lived with his wife Joanne for more that 50 years.
Enough about Jimmy and Paul. This is an inredibly cute screentest for the lead role in the film East of Eden
. At that time both Dean and Newman were fairly unknown actors, so they had equal chances of getting the leading role in Kazan's movie. But we all know who got it. Now I cannot imagine anyone esle doing the role of Cal, the frustrated and lost teenager who can't find a place in this world. I hope you thoroughly enjoy it. These two men are simply gorgeous!
